"I'd rather he decided, honestly"
A 40-year-old woman attends an assessment with her husband, who answers most of the interviewer's questions on her behalf while she nods along. When the interviewer asks her directly what she thinks, she says, "I don't really know, whatever he thinks is probably right, he's much better at these things than me." She describes struggling to choose even small things, like what to order at a restaurant, without asking someone else first, and says she has never lived alone, moving from her parents' house directly into living with her husband. She describes herself as "not very capable, really," despite having managed a household and raised two children for many years, and says the thought of having to make a big decision on her own fills her with dread.
